In another celebration  in Corrimal neighbourhood on 19th of February, where Ayyám-i-Há party  has been an annual event for the last three years, another successful event was held in aid of Oxfam‘s wonderful worldwide programs against poverty. The day was blessed with sunshine and a park full of lovely, generous friends happy to play games and support Oxfam. From the sack races to limbo, from sponge relays to dress ups and donut-eating, everyone was relaxed and enjoyed themselves. The event raised $541.

Ayyám-i-Há are the four days (five in a leap year) between the Bahá’í month of Mulk (February 7 – February 25) and the last month of the Bahá’í year, `Alá’ (March 2 – March 20), which is the month of fasting. As the Bahá’í calendar consists of the 19 months with 19 days each, the Ayyám-i-Há provides an extra four days (or five in leap years) to complete the solar cycle.

During Ayyám-i-Há, Bahá’ís and their friends strive to show extra love, fellowship, and charity. Ayyám-i-Há is also a time when Bahá’ís give and receive gifts, particularly to children.
